IRAC is the public and legal advocacy arm of the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism. IRAC’s mission is to advance religious freedom and pluralism, tolerance, social justice and civil liberties in Israel, viewing these values as intrinsic to and stemming from liberal understanding of Judaism. IRAC has become the most effective advocacy group of its kind and its leadership role has been widely recognized. Established in 1987, IRAC strives to fulfill its mission through an integrated approach which combines legal advocacy in the courts, policy analysis and outreach to policy makers, public education at the local, national and international levels, grass – roots mobilization in local and national social justice projects and legal aid to new immigrants at the community level.
