CINADCO Conducted 47 International Courses in 1997
The Centre for International Agricultural Development Cooperation (CINADCO) of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture conducted 47 international courses in 1997 at three training centres in a variety of languages. On December 11, 1997, Haim Divon, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of MASHAV, paid a visit to the Training Centre at Kibbutz Shefayim. Filipino Grapes
The grape industry in Cebu, one of the major islands in the central Philippines, was at its peak in the 1970s. Cebu, in fact, had always been one of the main centres for grapegrowing in this Pacific island nation. However, as the years went by, the industry declined so rapidly that by 1990 there were roughly only twelve hectares of vineyards on the entire island.

Israel's technical cooperation assistance with developing countries developed and operates, in recent years, various modalities or configurations of demonstration and training facilities around the world. What are they? How did they develop? What do they seek to accomplish? The author, Director of the Center for International Agricultural Development Cooperation (CINADCO), of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, which serves as the main professional and operational arm for MASHAV's agricultural programs both in Israel and abroad, notes that they all aim to serve as practical grassroots focal development sites.

The International Course on Leadership of Women in Development
March-April 2000 was given in Russian for 26 women from 13 countries of the Commonwealth of Independent states. Included were visits to researchers in plant genetics and women farmers in the kibbutzim, moshavim and family farms.

Women, Agriculture and Society
On the perfectly manicured grounds of Kibbutz Shfayim, a stone's throw away from the Mediterranean, a group of French-speaking women and men from 12 countries listen to a lecture on the role of women in Israeli agriculture. Twenty-eight participants were in Israel from May 22-June 19, 1996, for a CINADCO course on the Role of Women in Agricultural Development. The participants, from Africa, Europe and Asia, represented a wide cross-section of professions - hailing from both the public and private sectors in their respective countries. What they had in common was a desire and opportunity to learn from Israeli agricultural models and take back new insights and experiences to each of their home countries.

Uganda On-the-Spot 1965
In May 1965 the author, today a retired CINADCO cattle expert, travelled to Uganda together with Shimon Zuckerman, Arie Feier and Ali Bialer to organize two on-the-spot courses on Agricultural Extension Methods for the staff of the Animal Industry Ministry of Uganda. We present here are some of their experiences, reprinted from The Dairy Cattle Journal of 1965.
