The Service Center for Development Cooperation KEPA
The Service Center for Development Cooperation - known by its Finnish acronym KEPA - is an umbrella organization of Finnish NGOs that are active in development work and concerned about global issues. KEPA is non-aligned in terms of ideology, political standpoint and religious outlook.
Founded in 1985, KEPA now has over 200 member organizations. They include trade unions, aid organizations, youth and women's movements, fair trade, peace and social sector organizations, solidarity movements, religious organizations, environmental groups and friendship societies.
KEPA's members range from large nationwide organizations to small associations run by volunteers.
KEPA's activities are supported by public funding from the NGO budget of the foreign ministry's department for international development cooperation.
