A meeting on the implementation of the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS will take place from 31 May – 2 June, 2006 at the United Nations in New York, USA. Leaders from around the world, civil society groups and the private sector will arrive to discuss target more effective response in fighting the epidemic.

Hanni Oren will be the only representative of the Israeli civil society to arrive to these meetings. Rosenberg along side Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N., Mr. Danny Gilerman will present Israel’s contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS in Israel, in its neighboring countries and around the globe.

Oren is the chairwoman of the Israeli aid group “The Jerusalem AIDS Project” (JAIP). This is not a first for Rosenberg to attend such meetings in 2001 Rosenberg attended a UN meeting on the subject.

“The Jerusalem AIDS Project” is one of the leading Israeli international groups which offer AIDS awareness programs to the Israeli public as well as to communities in developing countries.
